​Events Calendar:
 
We have been busy planning events for families and nature enthusiasts of all ages.  The dates are listed below, but please do check our website and the Westfield Recreation Department website as we roll out our programs.
 
A note about children’s programs:
 
FOBP will offer programs for children ages 2 through 8 years old through the Westfield Recreation Department the 3rd Thursday of the month, weather permitting, as noted in the calendar below. 
 
Class  Schedule:
 
10-10:45 AM 2- 3 year olds with adult
11-11:45 AM 4 -5 year olds
3:30-4:30 PM 6 - 8 year olds

May 7, 2022                Family event:  Adopt a native plant for our demonstration gardens in celebration of Earth Day!  

May 19, 2022              Classes for ages 2 to 8:  Plants and Flowers

June 2022                   National Trails Day – Nature and History walks to be scheduled

June 16, 2022              Classes for ages 2 to 8:  Natural Habitats

June 25, 2022             Plein Air Painting in the park – FOBP collaboration with the Westfield Art Association
                                       (Rain date June 26, 2022)


July 2022                    Classes for ages 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 (date to be determined):   Real or Make Believe

August 2022               Classes for ages 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 (date to be determined):  Dirt + Water = Mud
 
September 15, 2022   Classes for ages 2 to 8:  Butterfly Life Cycle

​September 22, 2022  Roig Art Show at the Roig Collection Evalyn Dunn Gallery Annex 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

 
October 20, 2022       Classes for ages 2 to 8:  Spiders, Bats and Things that move in the night
 
October 29, 2022       Halloween Trunk (Tree, that is) or Treat
 
November 17, 2022   Classes for ages 2 to 8:  Migrate, Hibernate, Stay – BP birds and animals 
 
December 15, 2022    Classes for ages 2 to 8:  Winter/Seasons – weather and snow

Location

Brightwood Park is on the North end of Prospect Street.  Go past Franklin School and look for the entrance on the left.
