After making a full circle around the large pond, I was about to head for home. Suddenly I noticed a pair of sun glasses left by someone and sitting on the big rock, which prompted an impulse in me to turn 180 degrees and head for the junction area of the two ponds. A sixth sense reminded me not to miss something good. A young green heron standing on a branch of the shrubs appeared right in front of me. The bird seemed to be anxious for an instant breakfast, with the feathers on its head standing up like a firework. I stood still accompanying the young fellow for a while. The two of us started practicing Zen. After a while I blessed the bird for a nice breakfast and said farewell.
I am a frequent visitor of Brightwood Park and enjoy sharing my discoveries.
